Congratulations Oxford House

December 16, 2014
“Heritage Lottery Fund – ‘Oh! ‘wins’ the lottery’

Much needed repairs to protect and revitalise the wonderful grade II listed building, Oxford House in Bethnal Green, are a step closer thanks to initial support from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) for a grant of almost £1million.

Oxford House is celebrating after being awarded £102,800 development funding to help progress a bid for a total of £964,000.

The grant will also enable a programme of activities to interpret the ‘hidden’ stories of our 130 year history. The programme will be led by a new Heritage Curator/Programmer member of staff and delivered by a team of community partners that includes resident companies based within Oxford House including Green Candle Dance, Kayd Somali Arts & Culture and Young & Talented.

2015 will be very busy. We will appoint a design/technical team, submit a planning application, write our business plan and create our heritage activity plan. We also need to raise a further £400,000 during 2015 to match the HLF grant.”
