The Royal Exchange, Kingston

MFA formed part of a large design team for the redevelopment of the substantial Old Post Office and Telephone Exchange site in Kingston Town Centre. Both Grade II listed buildings had been placed on the 'Heritage at Risk' Register following decades of disuse and decay. Working closely with the wider team and key stakeholders, MFA helped develop a scheme that adaptively re-used the two historic buildings as commercial centrepieces within a broader mixed-use development comprising 400 new homes. Following successful planning and listed building consents, MFA took responsibility for the technical design and delivery of the historic building repairs.

Both properties have since been removed from the 'Heritage at Risk' Register and have received local conservation awards.
